THE ONE MAN BEATLES
Max Sullivan (The 'One Man Beatles') is a multi-instrumentalist/producer from Kettering (UK). Raised on 4-track recorders, 60's pop and modern alienation, Sullivan writes, records and produces from his home recording studio.
Favouring the use of vintage equipment, non-traditional song structures and a DIY approach to production, Sullivan’s genre-blending 'modern old-school' sound references his love of 60s rock (The Beatles) 90's alt-rock (Radiohead) and 00's lo-fi hip hop (J Dilla).
His debut album release 'Understanding Animals' (Released 28th May 2021) is a grand assessment of humanity in the 2020's. Thematically conceptual, the album is designed to play as an 'infinite loop' (whereby the last song segues into the first) – representing the cycle of life. Inspired by the one-man bands of Kevin Parker (Tame Impala), Mac Demarco and Elliott Smith, Sullivan wrote, recorded and produced the entirety of the album from his home studio in 2020.
